Mr. Robert's Neighborhood

I like a lot of things about working at Equinox, including having Robert Hunter in the office next door to mine. He’s a great neighbor! He never throws wild parties, I don’t have to ask him to hold it down, and he’s quick to offer witty remarks when the situation warrants them. Plus, when it comes to work, it’s easy to find Robert if I have a question for him—I can count on him being at his desk hard at work. He’s the textbook definition of dependability and spends his time on the clock diligently working on coding assignments.

Robert began his career at Equinox in 2008 after a brief stint as a Dell software support representative. He initially was tasked with coding for the TeleLink application (version 5) before transitioning to the Protector fraud management system (FMS). Robert focused his coding efforts on Protector for the bulk of his tenure at Equinox and worked closely with FMS testing expert Renee Workman through many projects and system enhancements. Lately, Robert has also been working on TeleLink 7 and Collector to keep apace of recent growth—we’ve not only added new folks to the TeleLink community, but we’ve also been honored to help many existing customers with additional business assurance projects.

In addition to working on the applications we develop for customers, over a decade of Robert’s time at Equinox was devoted to updating and maintaining an issue tracking program we used internally. True story: when Robert got word Equinox had a adopted a new issue tracker (thus freeing him from this responsibility), he did a celebratory jig in his office and expressed his jubilation (quietly, so as not to disturb his neighbors).

Robert currently resides in Antioch with his wife Anna. Before launching his career at Equinox, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from MTSU. But he most certainly hasn’t always lived in middle Tennessee! Robert was born in Kentucky, into a military family. Shortly thereafter, his family requested a transfer. Due to his father’s military service, Robert moved many times during his childhood, including living in Schenectady (New York), Germany, another stint in upstate NY (Watertown this time), and Alaska (he attended his freshman year of high school in Alaska!) before ending up in Maryville, TN. Robert finished high school in Maryville before making his way to MTSU.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys watching TV, playing video games, and reading. Robert and his wife took cooking classes together, where he proudly reports he specialized in burning grease. On a related note, Robert and Anna enjoy dining out and trying new foods.

Robert very much enjoys his career at our company; in fact, he can see himself working at Equinox through retirement. Besides the casual dress code, Robert likes the work he does each day, loves the benefits Wayne and Byron offer, such as work time flexibility and ability to have time off when requested. Of course, he also has great neighbors!

Equinox is grateful for Robert’s contributions to our development efforts and his dedication to work. And, I very much appreciate that he’s a great neighbor!
