I think we can all agree that virtually everything has been weird, different, and uncertain for the past 15 months. When the pandemic caused lockdowns, Equinox was fortunate to have infrastructure in place that allowed us to pivot to a remote work environment seamlessly and productively. Online meetings, emails, and phone conversations let us support, serve, and train our customers without interruption. Unfortunately, we had to host both 2020 user groups online for the first time in Equinox’s history. While it was the right call and best for everyone, it was sad knowing we wouldn’t catch up and hear personal anecdotes, family updates, and interesting vacation stories from the past year. So, while there is much for which we are grateful, we sorely missed being with customers and each other during 2020.

As Nashville moved through its 2021 phases to reopen, the Equinox team returned to the office in spurts, and we began planning for the future. Byron and Wayne founded Equinox Information Systems to create a great work environment, so one of their first orders of business was to host a celebratory company outing—an afternoon of food and fellowship—when everyone returned to the office recently.

We threw darts, we had corn hole tournaments, we played ping pong, we laughed, and we feasted on amazing meat prepared and smoked by Support team members Mitch and Chris. It was a perfect picnic afternoon. More than that though, it was an Equinox reunion. Simply put, we enjoyed all being together for the first time in over a year. We also can’t wait to be reunited with customers when we host the 23rd annual Protector User Group Meeting in Nashville! We are grateful for and continue to use online meetings as needed, but there is just no substitute for the creativity and camaraderie of working together in person.
