ACN Relies On Equinox Information Systems For Latest Project

Extends Use Of TeleLink Platform To Report On Additional Network Records

(NASHVILLE, TN) June 8, 2021—Equinox Information Systems, a leading software solutions provider to the telecommunications industry, is pleased to assist ACN with another project. Currently processing over 2 billion records a day for providers around the world, Equinox has been deploying applications that help telecom companies stop fraud, mediate usage data, manage expense, and optimize revenue since 1986. ACN—a global conglomerate providing telecommunications and essential home and business services to customers in 26 countries—recently turned to Equinox for additional reporting on new network traffic as well as mediating records from their existing network to a new billing system.

ACN has trusted Equinox as their business assurance solutions vendor since 2010 when Equinox originally deployed the TeleLink platform for mediation and reporting. Based on the positive outcome of that venture, ACN identified Equinox as the frontrunner in their 2015 search for an automated fraud management system (FMS), ultimately choosing Equinox to deploy Protector to supplement fraud mitigation programs already in place at ACN. In 2020, ACN reached out to Equinox for help reporting on additional network traffic and delivering data from a dozen different switches to new downstream targets and billing systems. Both items were accomplished using TeleLink.

“TeleLink has a proven track record for expertly handling data from multiple different sources and automatically formatting it and delivering it to the systems where it’s needed,” explained Tony Tohme, Director Billing at ACN. “Based on our experience with the Equinox team over the past decade, we knew we could rely on them to help us accomplish these objectives quickly and efficiently.”

TeleLink’s powerful mediation engine accepts records from multiple different network sources and formats them for delivery to billing and other operational support systems. As TeleLink processes these records, it compiles a searchable data warehouse, which allows virtually limitless reporting as well as analysis and identification of revenue assurance opportunities. The Protector FMS application monitors call and usage records to detect unwanted events and is able to automatically shut down activity at the switch or tear down active calls. Protector currently processes hundreds of millions of call records per day for customers and saves carriers hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud losses each year.

“Equinox is thrilled for the continued opportunity to serve ACN,” commented Equinox Executive Vice President, David West. “By design, TeleLink and Protector are extensible applications, so they can quickly and cost-effectively accommodate changes and additions in the evolving telecom industry. We are pleased to once again support ACN’s continued growth and expansion!”
