Communications Expands Use of Protector Telecom Fraud Management
System from Equinox Information Systems

10 PROVIDES REAL-TIME MONITORING AND CASE MANAGEMENT
Nashville, TN — September 5, 2003
- Nashville-based Equinox
Information Systems today announced that NewSouth Communications,
a leading Internet and voice services company, has upgraded
its current licenses of Protector telecom fraud management software
to the latest version: Protector 10. To support the company’s
growth, NewSouth has also elected to acquire additional Protector
10 licenses for six more call detail record (CDR) data sources.
The total agreement positions NewSouth Communications as a leader
in fraud management and represents the implementation of advanced
anti-fraud software on its entire telecommunications network.
Protector 10 anti-fraud software provides
real-time fraud protection to carriers by identifying instances
in which a customer's actual usage varies from expected usage
thereby indicating possible fraudulent activity. The system
allows NewSouth Communications to identify suspicious network
activity quickly and stop fraud in progress.
