FairPoint Communications Selects Protector 10 to Prevent Telecom Fraud

Nashville, TN - September 30, 2008 - Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems today announced that FairPoint Communications, an industry leading provider of communications services to communities across the country, has licensed Protector 10 for real-time communications fraud protection. Protector 10 interfaces with communications switches to identify telecom fraud in real-time, which allows costly fraud to be stopped in progress.

Protector 10 provides real-time protection by identifying instances in which a customer's actual usage varies from expected usage in a manner that suggests fraudulent activity. Over the last twenty years, Protector software has helped hundreds of communications companies like FairPoint mitigate fraud losses.

"Their decision to invest in Equinox telecom fraud software to protect their customers from costly communications fraud demonstrates their strong commitment to their customers and network security," noted David West, Executive Vice President at Equinox. "Equinox has a proven track record of helping communication providers limit their exposure to telecom fraud, and we are honored to play a key role in protecting FairPoint Communications from communications fraud as they serve customers."
