Equinox Announces Release of Switch Interface 3.0, A Switch Database Update Utility

Updates to Switch Interface set new standard for switch database management

NASHVILLE, TN - August 9, 2000 - Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems announced the commercial release of Switch Interface 3.0, a switch database update utility, enhancing Equinox's line of CDR and switch administration systems. The new release is designed to provide carriers even more control over switch access and increase user ease of interaction with the switch. Switch Interface 3.0 is used by telecom providers to simplify ANI, authcode, toll-free, calling card, and account code additions, deletions, updates, and lookups.

Switch Interface enables network administrators to control access to one or more switch databases for an unlimited number of users. With convenient access to their switch databases, carriers can manage more users, more data, and more switches efficiently and cost-effectively.

One of the primary features of the new version is heightened network security. "Not only do users need usernames and passwords to access the system," explains Derek Drake, Senior Programmer at Equinox in charge of developing the new release, "authorized network administrators can specify which level of access users have to each switch." Employees only have access to information directly related to their job activities, making it ideal for growing companies with limited time and resources.

The release also includes new built-in system logic that determines which switch or switches are affected by new transactions and sends the changes automatically to accelerate updates. This configuration enables users to perform other functions while waiting for a response from the switch. In addition, new features including re-send, search, sort, filter, and export options enable users of all levels to interact more efficiently with switch data.

Other enhancements include access to the switch databases through a telnet connection for speedier connectivity and a decrease in the number of ports users need to access the switch.
