FirstLight Rolls Out Equinox Business Assurance Solutions

Company Extends TeleLink License And Adds Protector FMS

NASHVILLE, TN—April 17, 2018—Leading telecom solutions provider Equinox Information Systems reports that FirstLight has upgraded to the latest version of the TeleLink revenue assurance platform and selected the Protector fraud management application to monitor their network. As a leading fiber-optic bandwidth infrastructure services provider operating in the Northeast, FirstLight has been building and operating their own fiber optic network for 20 years. They’ve also grown their network through several mergers and acquisitions in recent years. In fact, FirstLight first became acquainted with Equinox after acquiring Sovernet Communications early last year.

Currently processing 1.7 billion records a day for service providers around the world, Equinox has been helping telecom companies stop fraud, mediate usage data, manage expense, and optimize revenue since 1986. Since 2006, Sovernet relied on the TeleLink solution for record mediation, rate management, vendor reconciliation, and reporting. After evaluating the TeleLink solution in place at Sovernet and reviewing its results, FirstLight opted to not only continue using the system but to also upgrade and roll out the latest TeleLink usage analytics features. Additionally, FirstLight licensed the Protector fraud management solution from Equinox to monitor their expanding network.

“The expanded mediation and fraud management solutions from Equinox received a lot of high-level exposure at FirstLight after the Sovernet acquisition last year,” explained FirstLight CIO Scott Gilbert. “We are excited to move forward on both projects and look forward to continuing to work with Equinox.”

Protector, the most installed fraud management system in the U.S., is a comprehensive, scalable solution with a proven record of combatting even the newest fraud schemes. Saving carriers from hundreds of millions in fraud losses last year alone, Protector has well earned its reputation. TeleLink solves business assurance challenges by making usage data actionable. Its advanced usage analytics and report engine provide essential revenue, expense, and network management benefits.

“Protector and TeleLink are both market-tested, mature solutions that have produced benefits for hundreds of customers around the globe,” said David West, Executive Vice President of Equinox Information Systems. “While the results these companies achieve are great, our relationship with them is the most important aspect to us! We are grateful that FirstLight entrusted us with their latest projects.”
