As I reflect on the latest Protector Users Group Meeting (PUGM), I'm reminded just how much this event has evolved over the past three years. I wrote the blog for the PUGM when we first hosted the event at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville. The change of venue was a monumental shift for Equinox. Last year, we had record attendance while taking a giant leap in advancing our Tuesday evening social event by booking Pinewood Social.

This year was a continuation in that line of recent successes and development of the PUGM. Equinox has hosted its Protector customers for 18 consecutive years. This is a legacy of pride for our company and the development of our industry-leading fraud management solution. We returned to the Music City Center once again.

Our Tuesday evening event was held at Tequila Cowboy. It was an overwhelming success! The food was great, but the highlight of the evening was the mechanical bull riding. At the end of this blog, you’ll see many pictures in the slideshow of the fun and laughter with all of us around the bull. After the fun at Tequila Cowboy, we all headed next door to WannaB’s Karaoke Bar. It was fun to see those who channeled their inner rock star and braved the stage.

We enjoyed hosting 25 attendees from 19 different companies. There were ten people experiencing the PUGM for the first time. One first-time guest was impressed at how many people make the annual trip to Nashville. We are proud to have many attendees return year after year, as we strive to put together an event worth the time and effort for all our guests to attend.

A special part of the event this year was a surprise celebration of our 30th anniversary at Equinox. Byron and Wayne were presented with bound photo albums of pictures spanning the company’s history along with congratulatory remarks from customers and employees alike. Many at the PUGM contributed quotes that were included. You can see more of those quotes by following this link, and you can also read more by checking out our special anniversary page.

Overall, it was another very successful Protector Users Group Meeting. There are two metrics by which we evaluate each conference—did attendees improve their understanding of Protector and their overall sense of how to combat telecom fraud and did they have fun. The answer to both of those questions is a resounding YES!

We’re already making plans for PUGM 2017. Stay tuned to our website and emails so you get all the details. If you need help making your case to attend, please don’t hesitate to reach out to anyone here at Equinox. I look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
