EDCO Acquires TCP/IP Mediation System from Equinox Information Systems

System to Reduce the Transfer Time of EDCO's Call Recordss

NASHVILLE, TN - May 18, 1999 - Equinox Information Systems today announced the sale of Collector (TCP/IP) to EDCO, a switch-based provider and reseller of telecommunications services. Collector (TCP/IP) is an intelligent software mediation solution that downloads call detail records (CDRs) off of a switch via a TCP/IP communications link. The primary benefit of Collector (TCP/IP) is a significant reduction in the transfer time of call records from a switch allowing billing systems to process calls faster and fraud detection systems to monitor traffic in an extremely efficient fashion.

Collector (TCP/IP) features include:

• Transfer of call records to up to 2 IP addresses
• Call records can be transferred in three ways: immediately, once a day, and weekly
• A restart option that allows users to begin a transfer at the point in the last file where the transfer stopped
• Log files keep track of when the files are created, closed, the size of the file, and any errors
