Equinox Adds Support for ASN.1 Standard

TELELINK MEDIATION AND REVENUE ASSURANCE SOLUTION ENHANCED TO PROCESS NEW DATA FORMAT

Nashville, TN - July 24, 2012 - Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems announces support for yet another data format. The latest addition to Equinox's already extensive list of data formats is the Basic Encoding Rules (BER) format that is part of the ASN.1 standard. Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN.1) is a very flexible notation for defining/describing data types, including abstract types and values, as well as complex types defined in terms of other types.

With the rollout of 4G/LTE networks, a growing number of wireless carriers have ASN.1 formatted data, either created by their switched network or provided by their trading partners or NRTRDE clearinghouse. Therefore, Equinox has enhanced their TeleLink Revenue Assurance solution to process this data format and is working to further expand the range of ASN.1 data types that can be processed.

TeleLink is Equinox's flagship revenue assurance platform. It mediates, enriches, and summarizes usage data, which it captures and presents for reporting and analysis functions, as well as mediates the usage data to downstream BSS and OSS solutions. By performing these tasks, it makes usage data actionable. TeleLink's reporting and data integration features are extremely robust, allowing disparate usage data to easily be standardized, searched, stored, and retrieved. TeleLink's advanced call detail analytics, call reconciliation, invoice reconstruction, and margin analysis tools provide essential revenue management, expense management, and network management benefits.

"We constantly strive to optimize our applications to meet real-world business challenges. The exponential growth in the wireless, VoIP, and soft switch markets means that the number and type of data formats used to transmit data across networks has continued to increase," commented Equinox Executive Vice President David West. "Our tenure in the telecom industry coupled with TeleLink's architecture lets us respond to technological advancements rapidly and efficiently…just like we did in this case to support a new data format."

Equinox currently supports over 250 data formats, which means their business assurance solutions are available to wireless carriers, wholesale carriers/resellers, cable telephony, VoIP networks, as well as carriers whose networks include Class 4 or Class 5 switches.
