Americatel Upgrades TeleLink 5 Implementing Mediation Function

TELELINK TO MEDIATE ALL OF AMERICATEL ON & OFF-NET USAGE DATA FOR BILLING

Nashville, TN - November 3, 2009 - Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems today announced that Americatel, a leading provider of telecommunication services to ethnic businesses and consumers in the United States, has upgraded its installation of TeleLink to version 5 and deployed the software's mediation functionality. In addition to providing network reporting and analysis, TeleLink is a mediation platform that integrates with all usage, including Sonus and Nortel DMS GSP as well as off-net feeds. Americatel uses TeleLink 5 to mediate all of its call data for downstream billing system.

TeleLink facilitates the delivery of usage records by filtering and converting data to the appropriate formats for billing operational support systems (B/OSS). TeleLink allows telecom carriers to perform important operational functions, such as billing, fraud control, and verifying the usage of interconnect partners. Americatel uses TeleLink to process call records from multiple switch sources as well as six off-net feeds: Bell Nexxia, Verizon, Global Crossing, ANI Networks, Sprint, and Level 3.

"We have used TeleLink's reporting functionality for several years, and it plays an important role in our back-office operations," explained Russell Clarkson, CIO for Americatel. "In addition to the new query tools and enhanced reporting available with the upgrade, we are now using TeleLink to mediate call data from all of our switches and off-network partners to our billing system, as well as generate reports based on operational measurements (OMs)."

"Equinox is a trusted vendor for software development in the telecom industry." said David West, Equinox Executive Vice President. "Our relationship with Americatel is an excellent example of how our mediation software can lay the groundwork for the solid growth of a telecom company. We look forward to working and growing with Americatel in the years ahead."
